The Sete Cidades National Park is a magnificent natural monument consisting of rocky outcrops of the sedimentary basin of Parnaiba. It is located in the northeastern part of the state of Piaui and is nearly 200 km from Teresina, the capital of Piauí. The denomination Sete Cidades due to the fact of presenting rocks seven different rocks groups, separated from each other, and each is considered a "city". The uniform topography mimics shapes resemble people, animals and things, which have relevant names as head of Dom Pedro I, Indian head, camel, turtle, library and map of Brazil. The National Park of Sete Cidades is internationally known for its inscriptions on the walls of rocks, has waterfalls and warm pools.
